This hotel enjoys a unique sunny location, on the Zattere side, overlooking the Giudecca Island and the large Giudecca Canal. San Marco is only 1 stop away by boat or 15 minutes of pleasant walk through the Calli of Venice. Close by there is the Academia of Arts and the Guggenhaim Collection Museum. The area is quiet and trendy with many amenities and typical shops which are influenced by the many artists that goes around that area.
Most of the rooms of this ancient house have external bathrooms, one bathroom to every one or two rooms, due to the fact that the building is an historical property and it must be preserved. All the rooms boast a full or partial view of the lagoon and are furnished with antiques which are part of the heritage of the family Seguso. There is a good and charming restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch or dinner to the guests only.
Orange painted typical Venetian building with green shutters at the windows. The hotel overlooks the Giudecca Canal and on the right side there is another romantic, minor canal. The lobby is very small and gives access to the restaurant and to a cosy and intimate seating area. Everywhere you find peaces of arts and testimonies of history.
Charming hotel, run by the same family that converted its own home in hotel at the beginning of the XX century. Due to the delicacy and preciousness of the furnishings this hotel is suitable for guests who appreciate history and antiques. This hotel is definitely of a superior standard. |
